This policy is intended to complement the DOJ Policy Statement on Reasonable Accommodation and the DOJ Instruction on the Reasonable Accommodation Process, which was issued in September 2019. This policy describes the procedures the USAOs and EOUSA should use for processing requests for accommodations. Reasonable accommodations enhance the ability of qualified individuals with disabilities to apply for jobs, perform the essential functions of the job, and enjoy equal benefits and privileges of employment. It is the policy of the USAOs and EOUSA to provide reasonable and effective accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities who are employees or applicants for employment, and to take all reasonable steps to ensure these individuals are offered the resources necessary to be successful and productive members of the USAO / EOUSA workforce.
